That was likely a .22 bullet that made the hole. Check the interior (especially the columns) for the slug.
i dont think a bb gun could be shot with enough force to bust that tempered glass. i think you should call the police. what if someone had been inside?!!?
Hi Jason and Ron: It's definitely not a bullet. The glass is double glazed and the inner layer wasn't damaged. We did call the police, but I'm not sure what they can really do. We plan substantial planting along the fence next week. The offended neighbors won't see it so clearly so perhaps they will stop shooting at us.
i'm glad to hear that it wasn't a bullet. even if the police do nothing (i don't expect they'll throw your neighbors in the slammer), at least you'll have a police report indicating that SOMETHING happened. in the case that some other incident occurs (heaven forbid), you will have it recorded by the authorities.
hopefully they'll just leave you alone and there will never be another altercation. you definitely don't deserve to be terrorized just for having a cool tea house in your back yard.
